If you live in Kenwood, you already know the tourist version of summer here. Wine tasting on the east side of Highway 12, a photo at Ledson's castle, a bottle in the trunk, home by dark. That is not the summer you are living. Your summer is a village of about a thousand people with a dinner row that just quietly reset, a Saturday morning that belongs to a nonprofit-run state park, and a Saturday night that ends looking through a forty-inch telescope on Adobe Canyon Road. This post is a map of that week.
Kenwood's restaurant scene has always been small on purpose. Four rooms carry it, and two of them have changed hands or identity inside the last two years. If you have not been paying attention, your mental picture of the row is already out of date.
