Pancha's Is Back for Halloween, and Yountville's North End Has Its Late Night Again

October 29, 2026

"The day we reopened, it was like it never closed. The same people showed up," Ren Harris told The Press Democrat about Pancha's of Yountville, the Washington Street bar he and his partners brought back on Dec. 19, 2025. The bar opened in 1982 and closed in 2019. Pancha's ran for 37 years, went dark for six, and is now in its first fall back.

That timing matters this Saturday. Halloween 2025 came and went while Pancha's was still under renovation. On Oct. 31, 2026, the Town's Halloween Block Party takes over the North End of Washington Street from 5 to 9 p.m., and Pancha's is on the Town's list of participating businesses. It's the bar's first Halloween since reopening. It's also the clearest look yet at how the north end of town has filled back in.

What came back at 6764 Washington Street

The Press Democrat makes a plain point about Napa Valley: dive bars, and places open until 2 a.m., are hard to find, especially in Yountville. Pancha's was that place for decades. Ren and Marilyn Harris, owners of Paradigm Winery in Oakville, bought it in 2023 from longtime owner Bobby Solis. They chose to keep the name and the purpose rather than redevelop or rebrand.

According to the same Press Democrat report, the building needed a near-total interior rebuild because of severe structural issues. Scott Lewis came in as the operating partner and led that rebuild. Lewis is a longtime Napa hospitality professional who also owns V Wine Center in Yountville. Vintner Paul Frank joined as a co-owner. Lewis told the paper his goal was an affordable, welcoming place for locals, particularly service industry workers. He said the response since reopening has been overwhelmingly local, with chefs, vineyard workers, veterans and longtime residents turning out.

Inside, the room is split into zones. One is the "Church of Vine," built around a repurposed Tokalon vineyard vine that now hangs as a chandelier. Old photographs of Napa locals cover the walls, many of them brought in by patrons. A prominent tribute honors Rose Solis, the longtime bartender whose presence still defines the place.

The Town's visitor listing, published in June 2026, puts the hours at Tuesday through Sunday, 1 p.m. to 2 a.m., and notes that the bar is dog friendly. The listing also explains how the bar works with its neighbors. Pancha's serves hot dogs and light snacks, and patrons can order a wood-fired pizza from Ciccio next door and have it delivered to the bar. That pizza run between two neighboring addresses shows how this end of the street fits together.

The block that formed around it

The North End is now a short run of addresses with different hours and different kinds of evenings. Every business below is on the Town's participating list for Halloween. The table runs in street-number order, with Madeleine's at the end.

Business Address What's current this fall
Mad Fritz 6720 Washington St. Tap house opened July 18, 2024; open Thursday through Sunday
Jessup Cellars 6740 Washington St. Walk-in bar tastings daily, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; new gallery show with an Oct. 23 opening
North Block Restaurant 6757 Washington St. Happiest Hour daily, 3 to 6 p.m.; dinner until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
Pancha's of Yountville 6764 Washington St. Tuesday through Sunday, 1 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Ciccio 6770 Washington St. Menu by Christopher Kostow and Executive Chef Victor Borrayo
hope & grace Tasting Room 6795 Washington St. New North Yountville location; 25th anniversary year; walk-ins daily
Madeleine's Macarons Washington St., North End Made-to-order sweet and savory crêpes daily until 2 p.m.

Read across the hours and the block covers most of a day. Crêpes at Madeleine's run until 2 p.m. Jessup's bar pours from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. North Block's Happiest Hour runs 3 to 6 p.m., and Executive Chef Antonio Natal's dinner menu leans on Latin-Italian influences, handmade pastas, sourdough pizza, seafood and live-fire cooking. Pancha's stays open until 2 a.m.

Two of these addresses are new to the North End or newly busy. hope & grace has moved its tasting salon to 6795 Washington Street and is marking the winery's 25th year in 2026. Charles and his business partner Tiffani started the winery in 2001 with a small production of Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir. It now makes about 3,000 cases a year. Mad Fritz opened its Yountville tap house on July 18, 2024. Its own site lists the address as 6720 Washington St. and gives Thursday through Sunday as its operating days. The site lists two different sets of hours, so check it directly before you walk over.

Jessup Cellars has also refreshed its walls. UNBOUND, a two-artist exhibition curated by Julie Eppich of EPPICHarts, held its opening on Oct. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., with work by Agnes Pierscieniak and Emma Heun. Jessup also offers a complimentary, self-guided art walk with a wine pour, so the new show fits easily into an afternoon on the block.

How Saturday night runs

According to the Town of Yountville's announcement, the party returns to the North End of Washington Street with an expanded children's area and more food and drink options than before. Here is how the evening runs.

  1. 5 to 7:30 p.m. Free children's activities in the expanded kids' area.
  2. 7 p.m. The costume contest, with categories for individuals, groups and pets.
  3. Through 9 p.m. Live music from Steady Eddy & the Shakers, plus dancing and food and drinks.

The event is free and open to everyone, and costumes are encouraged whether or not you enter the contest. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so the party has a full weekend evening with nothing the next morning to cut it short. The block party ends at 9 p.m. Pancha's listed Saturday hours run to 2 a.m.

If you have questions about the event, the Town lists Samantha Holland, Parks and Recreation Director, as its contact at (707) 944-8712.

Between the scarecrows and the tree

The block party opens a stretch of small, walkable town events that continues into December.

Date Event Where

Tue., Nov. 10 Submission deadline for the Youth Art Show Email [email protected]
Sun., Nov. 22, 6 to 8 p.m. Yountville Town & Tree Lighting Yountville Community Center
Nov. 22 through Jan. 1, 2027 Holidays in Yountville season Townwide
Thu., Dec. 3, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Yountville Youth Art Show Steve Rogers Gallery, Community Center

The scarecrows are the work of residents, families, artists and local businesses, and Yountville Arts runs the vote. Voting closes the day after the block party. If you'll be on Washington Street Saturday anyway, the Community Center Plaza is close enough for a stop before the kids' activities start.

The Yountville Chamber of Commerce lists the Town & Tree Lighting for Sunday, Nov. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Community Center. That night also starts the Holidays in Yountville season, which runs through Jan. 1, 2027, and counts more than 100 seasonal events. Families with young artists should note an earlier date. The Youth Art Show accepts work from Napa County artists ages 5 to 18, and entries are due Nov. 10. Drawings, paintings and photographs must be framed and wired for hanging. The Dec. 3 opening is free and will include a preview of Yountville Arts' plans for 2027.

All of these events sit within a few blocks of each other. The Community Center hosts the scarecrows, the tree and the youth art show. The North End hosts Halloween and a late night at Pancha's. This fall, both ends of the street have something on the calendar.

At Amanda Shone, we keep track of these small changes along Washington Street because they shape what daily life in Yountville feels like, a bar reopening or a tasting room moving north included. If you're curious how this filled-in North End shows up in what nearby homes are worth, start with an instant home valuation, and we're happy to talk through the block with you.
